Formed as an MBO out of one of the large national accountancy practices, in the 25 years since, Forths has grown to be one of the premier and largest specialist Forensic Accountancy practices in the UK, with a proven track record in delivering high quality advice in select market areas.
With centres of excellence in Leeds and Manchester, the niche practice provides extensive UK wide coverage supporting the varied requirements of tax payers interactions with HMRC.
Our hugely experienced team have assisted thousands of tax payers to bring their tax affairs up to date, either through the full range of available voluntary disclosure facilities or by assisting them in investigations and / or compliance enquiries.

Tax Investigation Department
Our Tax Investigation department was established over 10 years ago, initially as a result of the number of such cases coming through to the general Forensic Accountancy enquiry lines.
Over time we have invested heavily and developed a range of marketing / business development tools that drive a continual (and in fact currently increasing) flow of new enquiries directly into our Tax Investigation department, the main source of these is digital enquiries directly from taxpayers.
As a result, the majority of our work is in personal tax matters.
The Role
As a result of the ever increasing monthly instructions as referred to above, we are seeking an experienced Tax Investigations Specialist to bolster the current team and assist us to continue to deliver our market leading services.
This unique role will involve working hand in hand with the current departmental head to grow out the department in this phase of dynamic expansion. It is an ideal role for those individuals wishing to work with more autonomy but nevertheless in a supportive environment.
The successful candidate will be expected to both review disclosure reports prepared by junior members of the team and carry a caseload themselves, as required.

Attributes
We will consider a range of prospective candidates but the hurdle criteria will be:
– At least 5 years Tax Investigation experience.
– A working knowledge of tax legislation relating to personal income, including self assessment, Capital Gains Tax and HMRC ‘s penalty regimes.
– Professionally qualified / part qualified (AAT / ATT / ACA / ACCA / CTA)
or
– Qualified by experience
– A detailed understanding of key HMRC disclosure options, such as the LPC, WDF and CDF.

Market rate, based on level of experience, with a wide range of benefits.

Location
Office base will be Manchester, with flexible working between 8.00am and 6.00pm
