Forths Forensic Accountants (part of Frenkel Topping Group) is one of the largest specialist Forensic Accountancy practices in the UK, with significant specialisms in the Insurance Litigation, Criminal Litigation and Commercial Litigation spheres.

Our centres of excellence, servicing the requirements of the whole UK and selected international markets, are in Leeds and Manchester.

We are seeking a Forensic Accountant with experience in Claimant/Insurance litigation work to join our Leeds or Manchester office.

Purpose

To use accountancy skills to investigate financial discrepancies and inaccuracies, carrying out detailed investigations to uncover information, identifying irregularities in financial documents and reports, calculating the exact losses, trace and recover funds.

Providing reports of findings to clients and associated bodies and potentially providing evidence at court as an expert witness.​

Key responsibilities

To:

  • Perform forensic research to trace fund and identify assets for recovery.
  • Extract data from financial records.
  • Create and manipulate spreadsheets.
  • Conduct forensic analysts of financial data, assessing the impact on profitability value or income.
  • Liaise with colleagues, clients and external bodies as required to obtain relevant information.
  • Undertake interviews to uncover and verify information.
  • Prepare forensic accounting reports from financial findings.
  • Manage allocated team to produce reports either partial or complete.
  • Prepare analytical data for court.
  • Attend court where necessary to give expert testimony.
  • Understand the wider economic and legal implications of a case.
  • Cover for other staff as required.
  • Overseeing the development of Trainees where applicable.
  • Be responsible for own continuous development, attending internal and external training to keep up to date with new legislation and case law.
  • Assist in strategic marketing of the department alongside business development team.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties designated by their immediate or ultimate supervisors from time time to meet business needs.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Accountancy.
  • Qualification in Maths & English.

  • ​Experience in Forensic Accountancy (at least 5 years).
  • Ability to independently manage and run own caseload.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyse data thoroughly.

  • Sound judgement.

  • Ability to manage and develop a team of trainee forensic accountants.
